BIOSKETCH
Dr Xulu-Kasaba is an academic and researcher at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Qualified primarily as an optometrist, postgraduate qualifications include certificates in ocular diagnostics (UKZN) and full certification in ocular therapeutics (SUNY College of Optometry), a MBA and PhD. Armed with over 20 years in private practice, her entrepreneurial skills are useful for her lecturing in the areas of Practice Management, General Clinic, Diagnosis and Management of Ocular diseases, Clinical Science and first year introductory modules.Xulu-Kasaba has graduated and supervises Honours level, Masters and PhD students in the areas of Health Systems, Human resources for eye health, Health Professions Education, Public Health Optometry and Systematic Reviews, which are also her research interest areas. She has presented at conferences both locally and internationally.
